Visual system comparison

From a generic first pass to a system that feels more like me.

These are cut-down examples, not the full style guides. They show the shift from a plausible AI-generated direction to the visual system now used on jonesand.ai.

Early direction

A polished AI template.

Dark surfaces, mono typography, neon accents, glow effects, and a terminal-like feel. It looked competent, but it could have belonged to almost any AI developer tool.

Current jonesand.ai system

A quieter editorial system.

Paper, ink, Signal Blue, and restrained use of Mustard. The interface is still technical, but it feels more like a personal publication than a dashboard.

Less generic AI styling

The mono terminal styling, neon accents, and glow effects gave way to a restrained palette.

More editorial

The current system feels closer to a personal publication than a dashboard.

Clearer rules

The final direction is backed by named tokens and implementation guidance.
